Ingatestone Hall is a 16th century mansion built by Sir William Petre, Secretary of State to four Tudor monarchs, and still occupied by his descendants. Containing furniture, pictures and memorabilia which have been accumulated over the centuries (Including two priests' hiding places). There are walks, lawns, trees and shrubs all in 11 acres of land with a lily pond in the walled garden.
